There's a clear distinction between marketing copy (such as website copy, sales one-pagers, and email marketing) and content (a wide category including blogs, newsletters, and whitepapers).

At Skriber, we don't hire a copywriter to do a content writer's job - and vice versa. This allows us to focus on pairing the best possible candidates with your organization and ensuring the best results.

How do you determine a technical writer's quality?

There are many factors at play, and these factors also depend on the writer's focus industry and whether they specialize in copywriting or content writing, and if they've worked in a relevant role (besides writing) in the industry (ex. a biotech engineer who writes biotech content, or a SaaS developer who writes API documentation). Generally, besides a round of interviews, we extensively check a writer's portfolio, credentials, references, and whether they've worked in interdisciplinary teams before.

Is this like Upwork?

No, and it will never be a content mill. We're fully dedicated to getting the best technical writers in the industry matched with your organization, preferably for long-term projects.
